Corin Ileto is a Filipina-Australian electronic producer, composer, DJ and performer working in the field of performance art, sound design, theater and club spaces. Her productions are an assemblage of converging styles moving somewhere between trance, and baroque-laden ambience. In her compositions, traditional forms merge with hyper-digital sounds to create new imaginary realms. Coming from a background in classical piano, Ileto is interested in creating a sonic space in which western classical music can be hybridized with contemporary electronic production and non-western forms. Each of her releases focus on speculative mythology drawing from science fiction, western classical music, personal histories and ancestral heritage. Her seminal releases include Manifest (Bedouin Records, 2019), Enantiodromia - released on Lee Gamble's iconic label UIQ (2021), and Araw published in the same year. In 2023, she released her sophomore album Lux Aeterna on UIQ, which was accompanied by a video premiere on FACT and a live AV performance featuring visuals by video artist/director Tristan Jalleh. Corin has performed around the world at major festivals such as Berlin Atonal (Berlin), Optimismo (Kaunas), CTM Festival (Berlin), Lunchmeat Festival (Prague), L.E.V. Matadero (Madrid), Robot Festival (Bologna), W.O.S. Festival (Santiago de Compostela) and has performed at locations such as Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam), Berghain and Kraftwerk in Berlin and also at Palais de Tokyo (Paris). Based in Sydney, she has garnered praise across Australia, and has performed and presented work at major festivals and institutions including Unsound Festival (Adelaide), Soft Centre Festival (Sydney), Carriageworks (Sydney) and the Sydney Opera House. As a DJ, CORIN has appeared at respected venues such as Berghain (Berlin), Final (Taipei) and Garage Noord (Amsterdam). As a composer and sound designer, Ileto works across a broad spectrum ranging from video, theater and surround sound installations often collaborating with dancer Angela Goh, Filipinx artist Phasmahammer and Sydney based queer collective Club Ate. She is also a regular monthly host on NTS Radio.
